Pelvic floor physiotherapy is the assessment and treatment of various conditions that manifest in the pelvic region. The pelvic floor consists of several muscles and tendons that support the pelvic organs including the bladder, bowel and uterus (women). A properly functioning pelvic floor is important because it holds the organs in place, it is responsible for elimination of the bladder and bowel, and influences the sexual organs.
